sitting down
analyzing the whole situation
as the Giant can picture and read all this
beggars on the st.
asking for a coin
asking for a smoke
asking for a beer
their fingers reach for the telephone return
pulling their dirty pants up
running their hand thru their hair
forget being cool
as they throw away their last pair of worn socks
in God's hands
they cry for more than just love
in God's hands
they cry for more than a sermon
and a pat on the back
as the world goes around
another sleeper lays on the dirty ground
a hooker
leaves the hotel
with laughing tears
as her dollars look newer than her body
she's too far from her parents arms
and too far from the loser
who took her body instead of her heart
she's on a roll now
she won't stop - she could use a prayer
